Description

Quick and easy caramelized bananas coated in a sticky, sweet coconut sugar glaze with a hint of cinnamon. Perfect as a warm topping for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas (cut in half and sliced lengthwise)
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar (or brown sugar)
  • pinch cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the coconut oil.
  2. Sprinkle in the coconut sugar and cinnamon, stirring until combined.
  3. Add the sliced bananas flat side down, arranging them in the pan.
  4. Cook for about 3 minutes until the bottoms are browned, caramelized, and softened.
  5. Flip the bananas and cook for another 3 minutes until the other side is caramelized.
  6. Remove from heat and serve warm over oatmeal, pancakes, waffles, crepes, ice cream, or yogurt.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm bananas for best texture.
  • Swap coconut sugar with maple syrup for a slightly different flavor.
  • Serve immediately for the best caramelized texture.
  • Add chopped nuts or shredded coconut for extra crunch.
