Description

Air fryer apples are a quick, healthy dessert or snack, offering a golden, crispy texture on the outside and a tender, juicy inside. Easily customizable with different spices, sweeteners, and toppings.

Ingredients

4 medium apples (such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Gala)

2 tablespoons melted butter

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons brown sugar or maple syrup (optional)

A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Wash and core the apples, then slice them into rounds or wedges.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, cinnamon, brown sugar (or maple syrup), and salt.
  4. Toss the apple slices in the butter and spice mixture until they’re evenly coated.
  5. Arrange the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they aren’t overcrowded.
  6. Air fry the apples for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking. The apples should be tender and golden brown when done.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of honey.

Notes

  1. You can use any apple variety you prefer (Granny Smith for tartness, Gala or Honeycrisp for sweetness).
  2. If you want to prevent browning, toss apple slices in a little lemon juice before cooking.
  3. For added crunch, add chopped walnuts, pecans, or almonds.
  4. Sweeteners like maple syrup or honey can be used instead of brown sugar for a natural sweetness.
  5. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  6. Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-5 minutes to restore crispness.
