Description
Air fryer apples are a quick, healthy dessert or snack, offering a golden, crispy texture on the outside and a tender, juicy inside. Easily customizable with different spices, sweeteners, and toppings.
Ingredients
4 medium apples (such as Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Gala)
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons brown sugar or maple syrup (optional)
A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Wash and core the apples, then slice them into rounds or wedges.
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, cinnamon, brown sugar (or maple syrup), and salt.
- Toss the apple slices in the butter and spice mixture until they’re evenly coated.
- Arrange the apple slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure they aren’t overcrowded.
- Air fry the apples for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking. The apples should be tender and golden brown when done.
- Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of honey.
Notes
- You can use any apple variety you prefer (Granny Smith for tartness, Gala or Honeycrisp for sweetness).
- If you want to prevent browning, toss apple slices in a little lemon juice before cooking.
- For added crunch, add chopped walnuts, pecans, or almonds.
- Sweeteners like maple syrup or honey can be used instead of brown sugar for a natural sweetness.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-5 minutes to restore crispness.
