Description

Crispy, golden air fryer croutons made from day-old bread and simple seasonings. Perfect for topping salads and soups with a crunchy, flavorful bite.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cubed day old bread (French, Italian, or sourdough)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Place the bread cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if needed.
  4. Air fry for 6–8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking, until the croutons are golden brown and crisp.
  5. Allow the croutons to cool completely before storing in an airtight container for up to one week.

Notes

  • Use slightly stale bread for the best texture and crispiness.
  • Try adding grated Parmesan, paprika, or Italian seasoning for extra flavor variations.
  • Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket so the croutons cook evenly.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them crisp.
