Description
Crispy, golden air fryer croutons made from day-old bread and simple seasonings. Perfect for topping salads and soups with a crunchy, flavorful bite.
Ingredients
- 4 cups cubed day old bread (French, Italian, or sourdough)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
- In a large bowl, toss the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- Place the bread cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if needed.
- Air fry for 6–8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking, until the croutons are golden brown and crisp.
- Allow the croutons to cool completely before storing in an airtight container for up to one week.
Notes
- Use slightly stale bread for the best texture and crispiness.
- Try adding grated Parmesan, paprika, or Italian seasoning for extra flavor variations.
- Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket so the croutons cook evenly.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them crisp.
