Description
Crispy, golden air fryer chicken wings coated in savory parmesan and herbs for an easy, flavorful appetizer or main dish. Perfectly cooked with a crunchy crust and juicy interior.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings (split into flats and drumettes)
- 1½ cups finely grated parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ¾ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Cooking spray (as needed)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels to ensure crispy skin.
- Place the wings in a large bowl. Add olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Toss until evenly coated.
- Sprinkle the grated parmesan over the wings and toss again until evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) if required.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the wings in a single layer, leaving space between them. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Air fry for 10 minutes, then flip the wings. Continue cooking for 10–12 minutes until golden brown, crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- For extra crispiness, increase temperature to 400°F and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
- Let the wings rest for 1–2 minutes before serving to allow the parmesan crust to set.
Notes
- Make sure wings are very dry before seasoning for maximum crispiness.
- Freshly grated parmesan works best for coating and flavor.
- Avoid overcrowding the air fryer to ensure even cooking.
- Serve with dipping sauces like ranch, marinara, or garlic aioli.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in the air fryer.
