Description

Crispy, golden air fryer chicken wings coated in savory parmesan and herbs for an easy, flavorful appetizer or main dish. Perfectly cooked with a crunchy crust and juicy interior.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings (split into flats and drumettes)
  • 1½ cups finely grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels to ensure crispy skin.
  2. Place the wings in a large bowl. Add olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Toss until evenly coated.
  3. Sprinkle the grated parmesan over the wings and toss again until evenly coated.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) if required.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Arrange the wings in a single layer, leaving space between them. Cook in batches if necessary.
  6. Air fry for 10 minutes, then flip the wings. Continue cooking for 10–12 minutes until golden brown, crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  7. For extra crispiness, increase temperature to 400°F and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes.
  8. Let the wings rest for 1–2 minutes before serving to allow the parmesan crust to set.

Notes

  • Make sure wings are very dry before seasoning for maximum crispiness.
  • Freshly grated parmesan works best for coating and flavor.
  • Avoid overcrowding the air fryer to ensure even cooking.
  • Serve with dipping sauces like ranch, marinara, or garlic aioli.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat in the air fryer.
