Description

Crispy and juicy air fryer popcorn chicken made healthier with lean chicken breast and a flavorful seasoned breading. Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or main dish for the whole family.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the chicken pieces, buttermilk, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper. Toss to coat well. Marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. In another bowl, mix the seasoned breadcrumbs and panko.
  3. Remove chicken from marinade, allowing excess buttermilk to drip off. Coat each piece in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  4. Place the breaded chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Spray the tops with olive oil spray.
  5. Air fry at 400°F for 8 to 9 minutes, turning halfway and spraying again, until golden and cooked through.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
