Description
Air Fryer Sliced Potatoes are a quick, crispy, and satisfying side dish or snack made with minimal oil. They’re customizable, easy to prepare, and a healthier alternative to deep-fried potatoes.
Ingredients
- 2–3 Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes
- 1–2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish – e.g., parsley or chives)
Instructions
- Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly. Leave the skin on or peel if preferred.
- Slice the potatoes into 1/8 to 1/4-inch rounds using a sharp knife or mandoline.
- Soak the slices in cold water for 15–30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat dry with a clean towel.
- Toss the potato slices with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Arrange the slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd; work in batches if needed.
- Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy on the edges.
- Garnish with chopped fresh herbs if desired and serve hot.
Notes
- Soaking the potatoes helps achieve extra crispiness but can be skipped if in a rush.
- Use a mandoline for evenly sliced potatoes and consistent cooking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
- To reheat, air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 3–5 minutes; avoid microwaving.
- Customize with different seasonings like smoked paprika, cayenne, or parmesan.
