Description
This Apple Cheesecake combines a creamy, classic cheesecake base with a cinnamon-spiced apple topping and a buttery graham cracker crust, making it a perfect fall dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 4 (8 oz) packages cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 large apples, peeled and chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F. Lightly coat a 9-inch springform pan with nonstick spray.
- In a medium bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until evenly combined. Press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan. Set aside.
- In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat the cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add sugar and vanilla and mix until combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
- Mix in the sour cream until smooth.
- Pour the cheesecake batter over the prepared crust and smooth the top.
- Bake for 55–60 minutes, or until the center is set. Turn off the oven, crack the door open, and let the cheesecake cool in the oven for 1 hour.
- While the cheesecake is cooling, prepare the apple topping: In a medium skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped apples, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Cook until apples are soft and caramelized, about 10 minutes. Let cool.
- Once the cheesecake has cooled completely, spoon the apple topping over the top.
- Refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
Notes
- Use tart apples like Granny Smith for a better contrast in flavor.
- Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to prevent lumps.
