Description

These Apple Cinnamon Breakfast Quesadillas are a warm, crispy, and sweet morning treat filled with sautéed apples, cinnamon, and melted cheese, perfect for a cozy breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 (8-inch) flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • Butter or oil for greasing skillet (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tbsp of butter. Add sliced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Sauté until apples are tender and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat.
  2. Place two tortillas on a flat surface. Sprinkle half of the cheese over each tortilla, then evenly distribute the cooked apples on top. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the apples and top with the remaining tortillas.
  3. Heat a clean skillet over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil if desired. Carefully transfer a quesadilla to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  4. Repeat with the second quesadilla.
  5. Let cool slightly before cutting into wedges. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can substitute cheddar with mozzarella or your favorite melting cheese.
  • Adjust cinnamon and sugar to taste depending on apple sweetness.
  • Try adding a drizzle of maple syrup or a dollop of yogurt on top.
