Description

This Baked Crunchy Hot Honey Chicken combines crispy, tender chicken with a sweet and spicy hot honey sauce, making it the perfect dish for any occasion.

Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tbsp olive oil

1/4 cup hot honey

2 tbsp butter

1 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix together the panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the eggs.
  4. Dip each chicken breast first in the flour, then in the beaten eggs, and finally coat them in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the coating sticks.
  5. Place the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle olive oil over the top of the chicken to help it crisp up while baking.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the coating is golden brown and crispy.
  7. While the chicken bakes, prepare the hot honey sauce. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the hot honey and red pepper flakes (if using). Cook for 1-2 minutes until the sauce is warm and combined.
  8. Once the chicken is done, remove it from the oven and drizzle the hot honey sauce over the top.
  9. Serve hot and enjoy the crispy, sweet, and spicy flavors!

Notes

  1. For extra spice, increase the red pepper flakes or add hot sauce to the hot honey sauce.
  2. For juicier chicken, you can swap chicken breasts for boneless, skinless chicken thighs.
  3. For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free breadcrumbs and replace the flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
  4. Roast vegetables like carrots, broccoli, or zucchini for a complete meal.
