Description
Baked Crunchy Hot Honey Chicken combines crispy chicken with a spicy-sweet hot honey glaze for a flavorful and healthier alternative to fried chicken.
Ingredients
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko breadcrumbs for extra crunch)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
2 large eggs
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup hot honey (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
 - In a shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
 - In another shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs. In a third bowl, place the flour.
 - Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, dip it into the egg, then coat it with the breadcrumb mixture. Press gently to ensure it sticks.
 - Place the coated chicken breasts on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken for extra crispiness.
 - Bake the chicken for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
 - While the chicken is baking, heat the hot honey in a small saucepan over low heat until warm.
 - Once the chicken is done, remove it from the oven and drizzle the warm hot honey over the top before serving.
 
Notes
- For extra crispiness, use Panko breadcrumbs or add cornstarch to the flour mixture.
 - You can make your own hot honey by mixing regular honey with hot sauce or chili flakes.
 - This recipe can be made ahead of time by breading the chicken and refrigerating it up to 24 hours before baking.
 - For a spicier kick, add more hot sauce or chili flakes to the honey or the breadcrumb mixture.
 - If using frozen chicken breasts, ensure they are thawed and cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
