Description
This baked lemon garlic cod with butter sauce is a light, flavorful seafood dish featuring tender, flaky cod infused with fresh lemon and garlic. Finished with a rich butter sauce, it’s perfect for an easy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, zested and juiced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Lemon slices, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with olive oil.
- Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels and place them in the prepared baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Pour the butter mixture evenly over the cod fillets.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove from the oven and spoon some of the pan sauce over the top.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon slices before serving.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the butter sauce.
- Serve with steamed vegetables, rice, or roasted potatoes.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- You can substitute cod with haddock or halibut if desired.
