Description

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract (for frosting)
- 3 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease and lightly flour a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together 1/2 cup butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Mix in sour cream, vanilla extract, and mashed bananas until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While the brownies bake, melt 1/2 cup butter in a saucepan over medium heat and cook until it turns golden brown.
- Remove browned butter from heat and whisk in powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
- Spread the frosting over the warm brownies. Allow to cool completely before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and sweetness.
- Frost the brownies while they are still warm for easier spreading.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- These brownies can be frozen for up to 2 months.
