Description

These Banana Brownies are rich, fudgy, and packed with chocolate flavor and banana goodness. A delicious twist on classic brownies, perfect for using up ripe bananas and satisfying your chocolate cravings.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 medium ripe banana, mashed (about 1/2 cup)
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8 inch (20×20 cm) baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until well combined.
  3. Add in the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in the mashed banana until fully incorporated.
  5. Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients using a rubber spatula or wooden spoon until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips if using.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top looks set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Make sure to use a ripe banana for maximum flavor and sweetness.
  • Don’t overmix the batter to keep the brownies fudgy.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for longer shelf life.
  • These brownies can be frozen for up to 2 months.
