Description
This easy banana ice cream, also known as “nice cream,” is a creamy, naturally sweet, dairy-free dessert made with just frozen bananas and blended until smooth.
Ingredients
- 4 large ripe bananas, sliced and frozen
Instructions
- Peel the ripe bananas and slice them into thin rounds.
- Place the banana slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 1–2 hours, or until completely frozen.
- Add the frozen banana slices to a high-powered blender or food processor.
- Blend until smooth and creamy, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. The bananas will go from crumbly to creamy as you blend.
- Serve immediately for a soft-serve texture, or transfer to a container and freeze for 1–2 hours for a firmer consistency.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas with brown spots for the sweetest flavor.
- If the bananas are difficult to blend, let them thaw for a few minutes before processing.
- Add optional mix-ins like cocoa powder, peanut butter, vanilla extract, or berries for flavor variations.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the freezer and let soften slightly before serving.
