Description

Bang Bang Chicken Skewers are a mouthwatering dish that combines tender chicken with a creamy, spicy, and tangy sauce. These skewers are perfect for grilling, making them a flavorful appetizer or a main course. The crispy texture of the chicken paired with the vibrant sauce makes each bite irresistible.

Ingredients

2 lbs chicken breast, cut into bite-sized chunks

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Bang Bang Sauce:

1/4 cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce

1 tablespoon sriracha sauce

1 teaspoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon honey

1 tablespoon sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using skewers, soak wooden skewers in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  2. In a bowl, toss the chicken chunks with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Thread the chicken onto the skewers, making sure they are spaced evenly.
  4. Grill the skewers for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice char.
  5. While the chicken is grilling, prepare the bang bang sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar, honey, and sesame oil.
  6. Once the chicken is cooked, remove the skewers from the grill and drizzle the bang bang sauce over the top. You can also serve the sauce on the side for dipping.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  1. For a vegetarian version, replace the chicken with tofu or your favorite plant-based protein.
  2. Increase the amount of sriracha in the sauce for a spicier kick.
  3. You can substitute chicken with shrimp, pork, or beef for a different flavor profile.
  4. Add grilled vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini to the skewers for more variety.
  5. The Bang Bang sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  6. If using frozen chicken, make sure it is fully thawed and patted dry before marinating.
