Description

These Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos are a delicious fusion of crispy shrimp tossed in a creamy, spicy sauce, served in warm tortillas with a tangy slaw. Perfect for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cups shredded coleslaw mix
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 small tortillas
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, marinate the shrimp in buttermilk for 10–15 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, combine cornstarch with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat for frying.
  4. Remove shrimp from buttermilk, coat in cornstarch, and fry until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  5. In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha to make the Bang Bang sauce.
  6. Toss the fried shrimp in the sauce until well coated.
  7. In another bowl, combine coleslaw mix, chopped cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper to make the slaw.
  8. Warm tortillas in a pan or microwave.
  9. Assemble tacos by placing slaw on tortillas, topping with Bang Bang shrimp, and garnishing with extra cilantro or lime if desired.

  • You can use store-bought coleslaw mix to save time.
