These Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos are a delicious fusion of crispy shrimp tossed in a creamy, spicy sauce, served in warm tortillas with a tangy slaw. Perfect for weeknight dinners or casual gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp Sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 2 cups shredded coleslaw mix
- 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 6 small tortillas
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, marinate the shrimp in buttermilk for 10–15 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine cornstarch with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat for frying.
- Remove shrimp from buttermilk, coat in cornstarch, and fry until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha to make the Bang Bang sauce.
- Toss the fried shrimp in the sauce until well coated.
- In another bowl, combine coleslaw mix, chopped cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper to make the slaw.
- Warm tortillas in a pan or microwave.
- Assemble tacos by placing slaw on tortillas, topping with Bang Bang shrimp, and garnishing with extra cilantro or lime if desired.
Notes
- Adjust the Sriracha to control the spice level.
- You can use store-bought coleslaw mix to save time.
