Description

Crispy, golden air fryer croutons made from day-old bread and simple seasonings. They are quick to prepare and perfect for topping salads or soups.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups cubed day old bread (French, Italian, or sourdough)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
  2. In a large bowl, toss the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Place the seasoned bread cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary.
  4. Air fry for 6–8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the croutons are golden brown and crisp.
  5. Allow the croutons to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Use slightly stale bread for the best texture and crispiness.
  • Try adding grated vegan parmesan, paprika, or Italian seasoning for extra flavor.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
  • These croutons are great on salads, soups, or as a crunchy snack.
