Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
  • Optional: pinch of ground nutmeg
  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Season with salt, black pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg if desired.
  6. Simmer for an additional 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
  7. Remove from heat and serve immediately over cooked pasta. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
