Description

A warm and comforting dessert blending the flavors of apple pie with the creamy richness of bread pudding. Perfect for fall or anytime you crave coziness!

Ingredients

  • 6 cups day-old bread, cubed (French or brioche recommended)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 cups apple pie filling, chopped
  • Caramel sauce for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the cubed bread evenly across the baking dish. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together milk, heavy cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg until fully combined.
  4. Fold in the chopped apple pie filling. Mix well.
  5. Pour the mixture evenly over the bread cubes, pressing down gently to ensure all bread is soaked.
  6. Let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to absorb the liquid fully.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden and the custard is set.
  8. Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving for extra decadence. Enjoy warm!

Notes

  • Use day-old bread for best texture and absorption.
  • Brioche or French bread adds a rich flavor to the pudding.
  • Optional: Add chopped nuts for extra crunch.
  • Best served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
