Description

Crispy golden chicken bites tossed in a creamy, sweet and spicy bang bang sauce. This easy homemade dish delivers the perfect balance of crunch, heat, and sweetness in every bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg with milk until smooth.
  3. Dip each chicken piece into the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly in the flour mixture. Shake off any excess.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Fry the chicken in batches for 5 to 6 minutes per batch, until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and rice vinegar until smooth.
  7. Toss the fried chicken pieces in the prepared sauce until evenly coated.
  8. Serve immediately, garnished with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sriracha to control the spice level.
  • For extra crispiness, double coat the chicken by dipping it back into the egg and flour mixture before frying.
  • Air frying is possible at 400°F for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Serve over rice, in lettuce wraps, or as an appetizer.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
