Description
This Cinnabon Cinnamon Roll Cake combines all the flavor of classic cinnamon rolls with the ease of a cake, complete with a rich cream cheese frosting.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (for cinnamon filling)
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed (for cinnamon filling)
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour (for cinnamon filling)
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for cinnamon filling)
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened (for frosting)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Add in the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth. Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- In another bowl, prepare the cinnamon filling by mixing together the softened butter, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon until smooth. Drop spoonfuls of the filling onto the cake batter in the baking dish. Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon filling into the cake batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 28-32 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the cream cheese frosting. In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add in the softened cream cheese and mix until creamy and smooth.
- Once the cake is done baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Spread the cream cheese frosting over the warm cake.
- Serve the cake warm and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra cinnamon flavor, you can add more cinnamon to the filling.
- Let the cake cool slightly before adding the frosting for best texture.
