Ingredients
- 2 lbs ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup quick-cooking oats
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp mustard
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, eggs, and oats. Mix well until evenly combined.
- Press the meat mixture into a lightly greased 9×5-inch loaf pan, shaping it evenly.
- In a small bowl, stir together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard to make the glaze.
- Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until the meatloaf reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
- Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- You can substitute the quick oats with breadcrumbs if preferred.
- Letting the meatloaf rest before slicing helps retain its juices.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the center is cooked thoroughly.
