Description

Deep Fried Marshmallows are a fun, indulgent treat with a crispy golden exterior and a warm, gooey center—perfect for parties, fairs, or sweet cravings.

Ingredients

  • 12 large marshmallows
  • 1 cup pancake mix or tempura batter mix
  • 3/4 cup water (adjust as needed for batter consistency)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar or chocolate sauce, optional for topping

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, prepare the batter by mixing pancake or tempura mix with water until smooth.
  3. Dip each marshmallow into the batter, coating fully.
  4. Carefully place battered marshmallows into the hot oil in small batches to avoid overcrowding.
  5. Fry for 20–30 seconds or until golden brown.
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve warm, topped with powdered sugar or chocolate sauce if desired.

Notes

  • Use flavored or jumbo marshmallows for variety.
  • Roll marshmallows in crushed graham crackers before battering for a s’mores twist.
  • Add cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter for extra flavor.
  • Serve with dipping sauces like caramel or raspberry.
  • Best served fresh, but can be stored for 1 day in an airtight container.
