Ingredients
- 8 ounces spaghetti
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water, then drain.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1–2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Stir in salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter.
- Pour in a bit of reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.
- Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese and parsley.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan if desired.
Notes
- Use freshly grated Parmesan for best flavor and melting.
- Add cooked chicken or shrimp for extra protein.
- Adjust red pepper flakes to control spice level.
