Description

These Honey Garlic Chicken Bites are juicy, flavorful, and quick to make. Coated in a sticky-sweet garlic sauce, they make a perfect weeknight dinner or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Chopped scallions, for garnish (optional)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut 1 pound of chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a bowl, toss the chicken with flour and cornstarch until evenly coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer and cook until golden and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Work in batches if needed.
  4. Remove cooked chicken and set aside. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  5. Stir in honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Bring to a simmer.
  6. Return chicken to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and clings to the chicken.
  7. Garnish with scallions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Make sure not to overcrowd the pan when cooking the chicken to ensure it crisps up nicely.
  • Adjust honey or soy sauce to taste for a sweeter or saltier profile.
  • This dish pairs well with rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables.
