Description

This Honey Garlic Chicken Stir Fry features tender chicken, crisp vegetables, and a flavorful honey garlic sauce. Quick and easy, it’s ideal for weeknight dinners served over rice or noodles.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce
  • 1 lb. boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 2 tablespoons Land O Lakes Spreadable Butter with Olive Oil and Sea Salt, divided
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 medium zucchini, sliced into half moons
  • ½ cup chopped bell pepper
  • ½ white onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, and chili garlic sauce. Set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, season the chicken with salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Add corn starch and toss to coat evenly. Set aside.
  3. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and stir fry the zucchini, bell pepper, and onion until lightly charred and tender. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. Add the remaining butter and sesame oil to the same skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  6. Pour in the prepared sauce and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until thickened.
  7. Return the cooked vegetables to the skillet and toss to coat and heat through.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds and serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

  • Use boneless chicken breast if preferred.
  • Add extra vegetables like broccoli or snap peas for variety.
  • Adjust chili garlic sauce to desired spice level.
  • For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
