Description
This Honey Garlic Chicken Stir Fry features tender chicken, crisp vegetables, and a flavorful honey garlic sauce. Quick and easy, it’s ideal for weeknight dinners served over rice or noodles.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili garlic sauce
- 1 lb. boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-size pieces
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 2 tablespoons Land O Lakes Spreadable Butter with Olive Oil and Sea Salt, divided
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 medium zucchini, sliced into half moons
- ½ cup chopped bell pepper
- ½ white onion, chopped
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- ¼ teaspoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, and chili garlic sauce. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, season the chicken with salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Add corn starch and toss to coat evenly. Set aside.
- Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and stir fry the zucchini, bell pepper, and onion until lightly charred and tender. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Add the remaining butter and sesame oil to the same skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken until golden brown and cooked through.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger to the skillet and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Pour in the prepared sauce and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally until thickened.
- Return the cooked vegetables to the skillet and toss to coat and heat through.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and serve hot over rice or noodles.
Notes
- Use boneless chicken breast if preferred.
- Add extra vegetables like broccoli or snap peas for variety.
- Adjust chili garlic sauce to desired spice level.
- For a gluten-free version, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
