Description

A simple and quick recipe for soft, fluffy naan bread using only two ingredients: Greek yogurt and self-rising flour. Perfect as a side for curries or as a base for wraps and flatbread pizzas.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup self-rising flour (plus extra for dusting)
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt (plain, full-fat preferred)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt.
  2. Mix until a dough forms, then transfer to a floured surface.
  3. Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each into a ball.
  5. Flatten each ball into a round or oval naan shape using a rolling pin.
  6. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  7. Cook each naan for 2–3 minutes on one side until bubbles form and the bottom is golden.
  8. Flip and cook the other side for another 1–2 minutes until cooked through.
  9. Optional: Brush with melted butter or garlic butter before serving.

Notes

  • If you don’t have self-rising flour, you can make your own by mixing 1 cup all-purpose flour with 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  • Make the naan thinner for crispier results or thicker for softer bread.
  • Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days or frozen for later use.
