Description
A simple and quick recipe for soft, fluffy naan bread using only two ingredients: Greek yogurt and self-rising flour. Perfect as a side for curries or as a base for wraps and flatbread pizzas.
Ingredients
- 1 cup self-rising flour (plus extra for dusting)
- 1 cup Greek yogurt (plain, full-fat preferred)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt.
- Mix until a dough forms, then transfer to a floured surface.
- Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces and roll each into a ball.
- Flatten each ball into a round or oval naan shape using a rolling pin.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Cook each naan for 2–3 minutes on one side until bubbles form and the bottom is golden.
- Flip and cook the other side for another 1–2 minutes until cooked through.
- Optional: Brush with melted butter or garlic butter before serving.
Notes
- If you don’t have self-rising flour, you can make your own by mixing 1 cup all-purpose flour with 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
- Make the naan thinner for crispier results or thicker for softer bread.
- Can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days or frozen for later use.
