Description

These Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots are a quick and easy side dish featuring tender carrots coated in a buttery brown sugar glaze with a touch of garlic, perfect for holiday meals or everyday dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb (500g) carrots, peeled and cut into batons
  • 1/4 cup (60g) brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (or 1 small garlic clove, finely minced)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp water

Instructions

  1. Add carrots, butter, sugar, garlic, salt, pepper, and water to a skillet or saucepan over medium-high heat.
  2. Stir to coat the carrots and bring to a simmer.
  3. Cover with a lid and cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Remove the lid and continue cooking for another 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the carrots are tender and the glaze thickens.
  5. If the glaze thickens too much before the carrots are tender, add a splash of water and continue cooking.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Use baby carrots or pre-cut carrots for convenience.
  • Adjust the sugar to taste if you prefer less sweetness.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in a skillet or microwave.
