Description

This Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak recipe is a spicy twist on the classic cheesesteak sandwich, featuring tender chicken breast cooked in buffalo sauce, topped with melted cheese, and served in a hoagie roll. It’s a quick and satisfying meal perfect for game day or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup buffalo wing sauce
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the thinly sliced chicken and cook until no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes.
  4. Season the chicken with salt and pepper, then stir in the buffalo wing sauce and cook for another 2 minutes until well coated.
  5. Return the cooked onions and peppers to the skillet and stir to combine.
  6. Divide the mixture into 4 portions and top each with a slice of provolone cheese. Cover the skillet briefly to melt the cheese.
  7. Toast the hoagie rolls if desired, then fill each with the cheesy buffalo chicken mixture.
  8. Drizzle with ranch or blue cheese dressing, if using, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute provolone with mozzarella or pepper jack for extra spice.
  • To make it less spicy, reduce the amount of buffalo sauce.
  • Add shredded lettuce or tomatoes for extra crunch and freshness.
