Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into chunks
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tbsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
- Cooked rice or naan, for serving
Instructions
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in garlic and ginger; cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes.
- Stir in cumin, paprika, garam masala, turmeric, and cayenne pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes to toast the spices.
- Pour in the tomato sauce, stir well, and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- Lower the heat and mix in the heavy cream and Greek yogurt. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes until the sauce is thickened and the chicken is fully cooked.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
