Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Sprinkles or colored sugar, for decorating (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract, and mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
  5. Place dough into a cookie press fitted with your desired shape disk.
  6. Press cookies onto ungreased or parchment-lined baking sheets.
  7. Decorate with sprinkles or colored sugar if desired.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes or until edges are just lightly golden.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
