Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups grated cabbage
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten
- Spoon of bacon grease or oil for frying
Instructions
- Combine grated cabbage, chopped onion, flour, salt, pepper, and beaten eggs in a mixing bowl.
- Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat and add bacon grease or oil.
- Spoon the cabbage mixture into the skillet, flattening slightly to form patties.
- Fry each patty for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- Remove patties from the skillet and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- You can substitute bacon grease with any vegetable oil for a vegetarian version.
- Add herbs like parsley or chives for extra flavor.
