Description

This Cajun Honey Jalapeño Slaw is a sweet, spicy, and tangy twist on classic coleslaw, combining honey, jalapeños, and Cajun seasoning for a bold, flavorful side dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 (14-ounce) bag of coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 jalapeño, finely diced (remove seeds for less heat)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, honey, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, diced jalapeño, and Cajun seasoning until smooth.
  2. Add salt and black pepper to taste.
  3. Add the coleslaw mix to the bowl and toss until evenly coated with the dressing.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to let the flavors meld.
  5. Serve chilled as a side dish.

Notes

  • For less heat, remove the seeds and membrane from the jalapeño or use only half.
  • Add more honey if you prefer a sweeter slaw.
  • This slaw pairs great with grilled meats or sandwiches.
  • Use a homemade Cajun seasoning blend for more control over the spice level.
