Description

This Cajun seafood boil is a flavorful and hearty dish packed with shrimp, crab legs, sausage, potatoes, and corn all tossed in a rich and spicy Cajun butter sauce. Perfect for gatherings or a fun family meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb crab legs
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 corn on the cobs, cut into halves or thirds
  • 1 lb baby potatoes
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (for boiling)
  • 1 tbsp Old Bay seasoning (optional, for boiling)
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (for sauce)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Fill a large pot with 4 cups of water. Add salt, 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning, Old Bay seasoning (if using), and squeeze in the juice of half a lemon. Bring to a boil.
  2. Add baby potatoes and cook for 10 minutes.
  3. Add corn and sausage, cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Add crab legs and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Add shrimp and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until pink and cooked through.
  6. While the seafood boils, melt butter in a separate pan. Add minced garlic, Cajun seasoning, paprika, lemon juice, and hot sauce. Simmer for 2–3 minutes to make the Cajun butter sauce.
  7. Drain the seafood and vegetables. Transfer to a large bowl or serving tray.
  8. Pour the Cajun butter sauce over the seafood boil and toss to coat.
  9. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

  • You can adjust the spice level by increasing or reducing the Cajun seasoning or hot sauce.
  • Feel free to add other seafood like clams or mussels based on preference.
  • Serve with crusty bread or rice to soak up the flavorful sauce.
