Description

Cajun Sloppy Joe Burritos combine the bold flavors of Cajun-style ground beef with the convenience of a handheld burrito. It’s a quick, easy, and spicy twist on traditional Sloppy Joes, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 6 large flour tortillas
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced green onions
  • Optional: sour cream, salsa, or hot sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add ground beef, chopped onion, and bell pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and vegetables are tender, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and Cajun seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Warm the tortillas in the microwave or on a skillet.
  6. Spoon the meat mixture evenly onto the center of each tortilla.
  7. Top each with shredded cheddar cheese and sliced green onions.
  8. Fold in the sides of the tortilla and roll up burrito-style.
  9. Serve warm with optional sour cream, salsa, or hot sauce if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for ground beef.
  • Adjust Cajun seasoning to taste depending on your spice preference.
  • Leftovers can be wrapped in foil and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Try adding rice or beans for a heartier burrito.
