Description

Candied Jolly Rancher Strawberries are a fun and colorful treat that brings a sweet twist to the classic strawberry. These strawberries are coated in a hard, candy shell made from crushed Jolly Ranchers, creating a crunchy and flavorful contrast to the juicy, fresh fruit. They’re perfect for parties, special occasions, or just a sweet snack when you’re in the mood for something different.

Ingredients

Fresh strawberries (about 1 pint)

1012 Jolly Rancher candies (flavor of your choice)

1 tablespoon of water

Toothpicks (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the strawberries thoroughly, leaving the green leaves attached.
  2. Insert a toothpick into the top of each strawberry for easy dipping.
  3. Unwrap the Jolly Rancher candies and place them in a heatproof bowl. You can use one flavor or mix multiple flavors for a colorful variety.
  4. Microwave the Jolly Ranchers in the bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Add 1 tablespoon of water to the melted candy mixture to thin it slightly for easier dipping.
  6. Dip each strawberry into the melted candy mixture, coating the fruit completely. You can also roll the strawberry to cover it evenly.
  7. Place the dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined tray and allow the candy coating to harden at room temperature, which may take 10-15 minutes.
  8. Once the candy shell is set, the strawberries are ready to enjoy!

Notes

  1. Storage: Candied Jolly Rancher Strawberries can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1-2 days. If storing for longer, refrigerate them, though the candy coating may lose some of its crunch.
  2. Reheating: The candy coating can be re-melted in the microwave if it becomes too hard or if you want to dip more strawberries. Just heat the Jolly Ranchers again in short intervals.
  3. You can experiment with different Jolly Rancher flavors like Watermelon, Cherry, or Blue Raspberry for different tastes and colors.
  4. After dipping, you can drizzle the strawberries with melted chocolate or add sprinkles or edible glitter before the candy coating hardens for a festive touch.
  5. For an extra chewy texture, try rolling the dipped strawberries in mini marshmallows before letting the candy coating set.
