  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter, powdered sugar, and granulated sugar until light and creamy.
  3. Add vanilla extract, then sift in the flour, cardamom, and salt. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4-inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters.
  5. Place cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are just lightly golden.
  6. Let cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
  7. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  8. Drizzle or spread the glaze over the cooled cookies. Allow to set before serving.
