Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- ¾ teaspoon kosher salt, divided
- ¾ cup unsalted butter (1½ sticks), divided
- 1 cup whole milk
- 8 oz shredded mild cheddar cheese
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Melt 1 stick (½ cup) of butter in a microwave-safe bowl and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and ½ teaspoon salt.
- Add the melted butter and milk to the dry ingredients. Whisk gently until just combined—do not overmix.
- Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese with a spoon.
- Drop heaping spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown.
- While the biscuits are baking, melt the remaining ¼ cup butter. Stir in ¼ teaspoon salt and parsley.
- Once the biscuits are out of the oven, brush them with the melted butter mixture. Serve warm.
Notes
- For an even cheesier biscuit, feel free to add more shredded cheddar to the dough.
- These biscuits are perfect alongside pasta, seafood, or a simple salad.
- They’re best served warm, right out of the oven, but can be stored in an airtight container for a couple of days and reheated.
