Description

Tender asparagus spears baked in a creamy garlic sauce and topped with melted mozzarella and Parmesan for a rich, savory side dish. This cheesy baked asparagus is simple to prepare and perfect alongside any dinner.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds asparagus, stalks trimmed
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Kosher salt, to taste
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Red pepper flakes, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Trim the woody ends of the asparagus and arrange the spears in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  3. Pour the heavy cream evenly over the asparagus.
  4. Sprinkle the minced garlic across the asparagus.
  5. Season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  6. Evenly distribute the grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella over the asparagus.
  7. If desired, sprinkle red pepper flakes on top for a slight kick.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden and the asparagus is tender.
  9. Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

  • For extra flavor, add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice before serving.
