Description

This Cheesy Ground Beef Pasta Skillet is the ultimate comfort food, combining tender pasta, savory ground beef, and a creamy, cheesy sauce. Perfect for busy nights or cozy family dinners, it’s a one-pan dish that’s easy to make and even easier to enjoy!

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes

1 can (6 oz) tomato paste

2 cups beef broth

2 cups uncooked pasta (penne, rotini, or elbow macaroni work well)

1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp dried basil

1 tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic to the skillet. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Add the uncooked pasta to the skillet and stir to combine. Cover the skillet, reduce the heat to low, and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  5. Once the pasta is cooked, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the top. Cover the skillet again and let the cheese melt for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  1. Vegetarian version: Replace the ground beef with plant-based ground meat or sautéed mushrooms for a vegetarian take on the dish.
  2. Spicy: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a chopped jalapeño to give it some heat.
  3. Cheese lovers: Experiment with different cheeses like mozzarella, Monterey Jack, or Parmesan for a variation in flavor.
  4. Add veggies: Toss in some spinach, bell peppers, or zucchini for extra color and nutrients.
