Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
- Beat in cocoa, flour, baking powder, and salt until fully combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.
- Add powdered sugar and vanilla and beat until fluffy and smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese frosting over the cooled brownies.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set the frosting before slicing and serving.
