Description

Soft, nutritious chicken nuggets packed with broccoli, perfect for baby-led weaning or toddler meals. These homemade nuggets are easy to hold and provide a balanced mix of protein and vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 150 g ground chicken
  • 6 broccoli florets
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Steam the broccoli florets until soft, about 5 minutes, then mash or finely chop them in a bowl.
  2. Add the ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, grated cheese, and garlic powder to the bowl with the broccoli.
  3. Mix everything together until well combined and evenly distributed.
  4. Using slightly wet hands, form the mixture into small nugget shapes.
  5. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  6. Cook the nuggets for about 3–4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Let the nuggets cool slightly before serving to your baby or toddler.

Notes

  • Ensure nuggets are fully cooled and cut into appropriate sizes for younger babies.
  • You can bake the nuggets at 180°C (350°F) for about 15 minutes as an alternative to pan frying.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • These nuggets can be frozen and reheated for quick toddler meals.
