Description
These Chicken Caesar Burgers are a flavorful twist on the classic Caesar salad. Ground chicken patties are mixed with croutons, Caesar dressing, and Parmesan cheese, then pan-fried to golden perfection. Topped with crisp romaine lettuce, more Caesar dressing, and a squeeze of lemon juice, these burgers are the perfect combination of juicy chicken and savory Caesar flavors. Ideal for a weeknight dinner or meal prep.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 cup croutons (about ½ cup once ground)
- 5 tablespoons Caesar dressing, divided (plus more for serving)
- 1 garlic clove, finely minced
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ¾ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, divided
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- 3 cups thinly sliced romaine lettuce
- 4 toasted hamburger buns
- Lemon juice from 1 lemon (optional)
Instructions
- Add croutons to a food processor and pulse 2-3 times, then blend for 20-30 seconds until coarse crumbs form.
- In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, ⅓ cup of the ground croutons (reserve the rest), 2 tablespoons Caesar dressing, 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal patties, each about 4 inches wide and 1 inch thick. If the mixture is sticky, spritz your hands lightly with cooking spray.
- Place ½ cup Parmesan cheese in a shallow bowl or plate. Dip each side of the patties into the Parmesan, pressing gently to coat.
- Heat avocado oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes per side, until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- In a medium bowl, toss romaine lettuce with the remaining 3 tablespoons Caesar dressing, 2 tablespoons Parmesan, and the reserved ground croutons.
- Serve patties on toasted buns, topped with dressed romaine lettuce, a squeeze of lemon juice, and extra Caesar dressing if desired.
Notes
- For extra flavor, feel free to add a sprinkle of extra Parmesan on top of the burgers before serving.
- If you prefer grilled patties over pan-fried, you can cook them on a grill over medium heat, flipping halfway through.
- The lemon juice adds a fresh zesty touch to balance the rich Caesar dressing.
