Description

A delicious fusion of classic Chicken Parmesan and grilled cheese, this sandwich features crispy Italian bread filled with tender chicken, marinara sauce, and melty mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices Italian bread
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded or sliced
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a clean surface.
  4. Divide the cooked chicken evenly between the two slices of bread, then spoon marinara sauce over the chicken.
  5. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Sprinkle garlic powder, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper over the cheese.
  7. Top each sandwich with the remaining two slices of bread, buttered side facing up.
  8. Place the sandwiches in the preheated skillet or griddle and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  9. Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, slice if desired, and serve hot.
