Description
A delicious fusion of classic Chicken Parmesan and grilled cheese, this sandwich features crispy Italian bread filled with tender chicken, marinara sauce, and melty mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Ingredients
- 4 slices Italian bread
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded or sliced
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Place two slices of bread, buttered side down, on a clean surface.
- Divide the cooked chicken evenly between the two slices of bread, then spoon marinara sauce over the chicken.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by grated Parmesan cheese.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper over the cheese.
- Top each sandwich with the remaining two slices of bread, buttered side facing up.
- Place the sandwiches in the preheated skillet or griddle and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, slice if desired, and serve hot.
