Description
This Chicken Tortellini Bake is a hearty, cheesy, and comforting casserole made with tender chicken, cheese-filled tortellini, and marinara sauce, all baked to perfection. It’s an easy weeknight dinner that comes together quickly with minimal prep.
Ingredients
- 19 oz frozen cheese tortellini
- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or cubed
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded (divided)
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Non-stick cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
- Cook tortellini according to package directions, but reduce the cook time by 2 minutes. Drain well.
- In a large bowl, combine the marinara sauce, sour cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Add cooked tortellini and chicken to the sauce mixture and stir until combined.
- Mix in 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Top with remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes or until hot and bubbly and cheese is golden brown.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use rotisserie chicken for a quick shortcut.
- You can substitute fresh tortellini, but reduce the boiling time as needed.
- To add veggies, stir in spinach or mushrooms before baking.
- Leftovers store well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
