Description

This Easy Chili Mac Casserole is a comforting and simple one-dish meal that combines the bold flavors of chili with cheesy macaroni, baked to bubbly perfection.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 cup onion, diced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 can (15 oz) chili beans
  • 1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 cups cooked elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until soft.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess grease.
  4. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  5. Add chili beans, diced tomatoes with green chilies, and tomato sauce. Mix well and simmer for a few minutes.
  6. Stir in cooked macaroni and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Top with remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until cheese is melted and casserole is heated through.
  9. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
