A rich and creamy chocolate mousse made with ripe avocados, offering a healthier twist on a classic dessert. This recipe is dairy-free, vegan-friendly, and perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth guilt-free.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocados
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder (plus extra to dust)
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of sea salt
- 100g dark chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa solids), melted
- Optional: fresh berries and mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the stones and scoop the flesh into a food processor.
- Add the cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt. Blend until smooth.
- Pour in the melted dark chocolate and blend again until fully combined and silky.
- Spoon the mousse into serving glasses or bowls and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes to set.
- Before serving, dust with cocoa powder and garnish with fresh berries and mint leaves if using.
Notes
- Use very ripe avocados for the creamiest texture.
- You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup to taste.
- For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of chili powder or cinnamon.
