Ingredients
- 1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients to make it)
- 2 boxes (3.4 oz each) instant caramel pudding mix
- 4 cups cold milk
- 1 container (8 oz) whipped topping (Cool Whip), thawed
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup chocolate syrup
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- Optional: additional pecans and drizzles for topping
Instructions
- Prepare the chocolate cake according to the package directions. Let it cool completely, then cut into small cubes.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the caramel pudding mixes and cold milk for about 2 minutes until thickened. Refrigerate for 5 minutes to set.
- In a large trifle bowl or glass dish, start layering with half of the chocolate cake cubes.
- Spread half of the caramel pudding over the cake.
- Add a layer of half the whipped topping.
- Sprinkle half of the chopped pecans over the whipped topping.
- Drizzle with chocolate syrup and caramel sauce.
- Repeat the layers with remaining ingredients: cake, pudding, whipped topping, pecans, and drizzles.
- Top with extra pecans and decorative drizzles if desired.
- Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving for best texture and flavor.
