Description

Rich and chewy Chocolate Cherry Cookies packed with semi-sweet chocolate chips and tart dried cherries—perfect for a sweet treat or gift!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped dried cherries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped dried cherries until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are slightly soft.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, enjoy these delicious Chocolate Cherry Cookies with a glass of milk or your favorite hot beverage!

Notes

  • You can adjust the amount of chocolate chips or cherries to your preference.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
  • Chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking can help reduce spreading.
