Ingredients
- 3 large egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy.
- Add cream of tartar and salt, then continue beating until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add the sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating well after each addition until stiff, glossy peaks form.
- Beat in the vanilla extract.
- Gently fold in the cocoa powder and mini chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded teaspoons of the meringue onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 1 hour, then turn off the oven and let the cookies cool inside the oven for another hour.
- Remove from oven and store in an airtight container.
